Agapé UK has inspired people to discover Jesus at home, at university and in the wider world for more than 50 years. We have teams working in nine locations across the UK with a focus to engage with students, families, leaders, sporting professionals, churches and in digital spaces online.

About You

You have a deep love for God and a clear sense of your calling in fulfilling the Great Commission, especially through helping pro-athletes, coaches and support staff discover Jesus. You're rooted in a local church community that’s excited to support you in this journey.

You’re passionate about helping athletes grow in faith and eager to invest spiritually in those in the pro sport world. You’re ready to use your experience walking with Jesus to disciple and mentor others. You are willing to engage pro athletes in spiritual conversations. You have a heart to introduce athletes and coaches to the Holy Spirit and be truly open to every spiritual gift and life through supernatural filling.

You embrace challenges with trust in God and value collaboration with supportive teammates. You believe serious work can be joyful and fun; and you’re a curious learner with a teachable spirit. You’re also self-aware, able to reflect on how the fruit of the Spirit is growing in your life and where you still seek growth.

About the Pro Sports Staff Role

Working with Pro Sports at Agapé UK you have the opportunity to invest in the spiritual lives of pro athletes by helping them explore what it means to follow Jesus. You help mentor and disciple athletes to grow in their faith and be ambassadors for Christ in their field. You help lead group Bible studies for athletes and plan social events and retreats for athletes. You have opportunities to serve as chaplain for pro athletic clubs.

Skills Desired for Pro Sports Staff

•  You are willing to initiate in spiritual conversations with athletes and support staff around the professional sport ecosystem
• You are curious and empathetic towards those who are spiritual seekers
• You have a love for God and his Word.
• You are effectively able to mentor and disciple others.
• You are able to network and build relationships
• You are able to assist with the planning and execution of social events and retreats

Life on Staff with Agapé UK

The funding for this role will come through building a team of ministry partners, individuals and churches who commit to praying and giving financially to support your salary and expenses. If this feels daunting, don’t worry, for over 50 years, God has provided for hundreds of UK staff in this way. We offer excellent training and ongoing support to help you succeed.

Transitioning from traditional salary funding to donor support can take time. To help, we offer a matching subsidy programme for this role to boost early donations and accelerate your journey to full support. More details are available on request. Salary is discussed with you personally and set within our organisational guidelines.
