Agapé UK Study Abroad
Are you given the opportunity to study abroad as part of your university or college degree? Perhaps you’re a foreign language student, preparing for your year studying abroad, or you’ve just discovered that your university offers an exchange programme. If that’s you, Agapé UK Study Abroad might just be the programme for you on your semester or year abroad!
Agapé UK Study Abroad is an opportunity for Christian students to help you make the most of your time abroad, not just for furthering your education, but to help you as you discover Jesus together with students in your new university.
As an international Christian charity, we’re active in over 190 countries across the world. We’ll try to connect you with an existing local Agapé student team in the university where you’ll be studying, and we’ll provide you with an experienced coach in the UK, who will train and support you during your time overseas. You’ll also receive support in learning to live in a new culture, as well as information and resources that can help people discover Jesus together.
Agapé UK Study Abroad is an opportunity for you to learn skills that will be relevant for you whilst you are studying abroad but will also last a lifetime as you join in Jesus’ commission to go and tell others about the hope he offers!

Application Process
Our application helps you and us figure out if Agapé UK Study Abroad is the right fit. We’re not looking for perfect people, so just be honest in your answers.
Once you have been placed in your education programme abroad, please fill out the following application: Agape UK Study Abroad. The application takes up to 60 minutes to complete. You can’t save and come back later, so it’s a good idea to draft your answers somewhere else first. Once you submit, you’ll get a copy emailed to you.
You also must send the Reference Form to two people: one church leader and one Agapé UK staff member, or a trusted Christian friend if needed. Send this link to your references and ask them to submit them as soon as they are able. Reference form
Please email global@agape.org.uk with the name and location of your overseas university and we will see about connecting you with an Agape team at that university or nearby.
We will review your application and upon acceptance will send you a Welcome Packet to help you prepare for your time abroad. You’ll receive a Workbook that will have articles and studies to work through while away. You’ll be connected to a coach in the UK who will be able to connect with you every 2-3 weeks while you’re away.
Please submit application and references at least 6 weeks ahead of the date of your departure. If studying abroad in September, please submit application and references by 15 July. If studying abroad in January, please submit application and references by 15 November.

Raising the Funds
The Agapé UK Study Abroad experience is FREE. Just follow the instructions set out by your university to receive your placement abroad and we will help to provide materials and connections with Agapé in your overseas location to support you in this experience.

Timeline
- September Study Abroad:
