Giving Information

Agapé relies on the financial support of individuals, groups and churches. You can support a staff member, a team or project, a recent appeal, or simply allow your gift to be used where it is most needed.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid means Agapé can reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that is donated, at no extra cost to you or us.

  • Gift Aid increases the value of your donation to Agapé by allowing us to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift. Currently we benefit by an extra 25p for every £1 given, at no extra cost to you.
  • Gift Aid is reclaimed by Agapé from the tax you pay for the current tax year. You must be paying enough income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the amount of tax Agapé, and all other charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs, will reclaim on your donations in the current tax year.
  • You are responsible for any tax shortfall. If you pay less income tax and/or capital gains tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
  • You must notify us if you want to cancel your Gift Aid declaration, change your name or home address, or you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
  • If you pay higher rate tax, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax 40 and/or 45 per cent and the basic rate of tax 20 per cent on the total 'gross' value of your donation to Agapé. You can make this claim on your Self Assessment tax return.

You can indicate that you would like to Gift Aid your gift when you make your donation on our website.
